RAC Inclement Weather Policy:

In the event of a weekday snow emergency please watch for closure of the Romulus School District. If the Romulus School District is closed due to snow or ice, the RAC will be open, however, all AM fitness and aquatic classes will be cancelled for that day. In the event that the class is in the evening or on the weekend, please call the front desk at 734-942-2223.

BASIC YOGA

Finally a Yoga class that anyone can do!  Easy to follow with the right amount of flowing combinations.

BODY by BARRE

Instructor: Carmen

Location: Dance Studio

The latest form of training. The class is designed to lengthen and sculpt muscles, increase flexibility, and change the body to be dynamically strong. Barre combines yoga, Pilate's, and ballet barre conditioning.

BODY CONDITIONING

Utilizing many different tools to sculpt your muscles for a toned lean body. Different variations of cardio and strength training to give you the best results. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and take your fitness to a whole new level.

BODY SCULPTING

A 1 Hour total body workout involving body weight exercises, hand weights, stability balls, and resistance tubing.  Designed to sculpt the body and increase muscular endurance.  This class is fun, effective, and for all levels of fitness.

CARDIO CIRCUIT

This class alternates intervals of strength & cardio using a variety of equipment, as well as your own body weight.  This ALL level class is a toning & cardio workout in one with an emphasis on intensity options & modifications for optimal results.

CORE & MORE

Zoning in on your core using contemporary body sculpting movements. Utilizing stability balls, resistance tubing, Pilate's power ring, and more to enhance all of your muscles while shaping, defining, and strengthening your body. Beginner to advanced.

DRUM CORE

This fun energetic cardio/core class will be performed on a fit ball with drum sticks. A total body workout. *45 minute class

FAST TRACK BOOTCAMP

Incorporates cardio exercises with circuit training using a variety of equipment: Bosu's, Medicine Balls, Dumbbells, Heavy Ropes, Ballast Balls & more. *45 minute class

GUTTS and BUTTS

Instructor: Susan

Location: Dance Studio

A cardio warm up with the step bench working into standing glut work with emphasis on all 3 parts of the glut and engaging the inner thigh.  Progressing to floor work with more glut and hamstring engagement.   Abdominal exercises will include all 5 parts of the abs.  This class is designed for any age or fitness level.

INSANITY

High intensity cardio intervals of 30 seconds with a small rest in between drills and it works EPOC system so you burn more calories after class for a longer period of time.

Kettlebell AMPD

Instructor: Gloria

Location: Small Youth Gym

Takes heart - pumping music and your favorite kettlebell moves and combine them into 60 minutes of calorie torching fun! This whole body workout emphasizes group fitness and focuses on specific areas such as arms, legs, core, and cardio. Each song concentrates on a main area, while still maintaining a whole body routine.

KICK/STRIKE

A unique, fast paced approach to martial arts. This class is heavy on toning, core strength and cardio while teaching you the basic hand

and leg techniques of martial arts.  This class is designed for all fitness levels.

POUND

This full body workout fuss cardio interval training with drumming to provide a challenging, heart-pumping workout.

R.I.P.P.E.D.

Instructor: Gloria

Resistance. Interval. Power. Plyometric. Endurance. Diet. This class offers high cardio, weight training and mixed martial arts. forming a non-plateau, high intensity workout.

TABATA

20 Second Interval work followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated 8 times per exercise focusing on every inch of the body for a great calorie burn.

ULTIMATE UPPER BODY

Looking to tone your upper body? This is the class for you! Using basic strength training principles and a variety of equipment, we will focus on building strong, toned, shapely arms, back and chest.

YOGALATES

Medium to slow paced yoga flow with emphasis on strengthening core and lower back.

ZUMBA

A fun-filled Latin inspired dance class with hypnotic and exotic rhythms.    Learn dances such as cumbia, raegetton, salsa, flamenco, and many more.   Appropriate for anyone of any age.  If you want to have fun while you work up a sweat this is the class for you!  Burn between 700 - 1000 calories per class while having tons of fun!

SilverSneakers Classic

Have fun and move to the music through a series of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living.  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance.  A chair is used for seated and standing support.

SilverSneakers Yoga

Yoga stretch will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses.  Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movements.   Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

SilverSneakers Circuit

Instructor: Margie

Location: Dance Studio

* Advanced Class* Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with non impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises. (Pre requisite: 2 - 3 months of SilverSneakers Class Class)
